About Eric Holder's Speech

Before you get all upset over U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder's speech that he gave for the African-American History Month program at the Justice Department -- a speech that newsers and talking heads have misrepresented by focusing on his "nation of cowards" line -- read the whole damn thing yourself and come to your own conclusions.

I thought it was a really good speech. His real point is that societal practices such as political correctness and sensitivity training have made many afraid to say how they really feel about certain race issues. The fear of being labeled as "racist," "intolerant" or "ignorant" prevents some people from saying what's really on their minds.

Holder's just telling folks to have some onions and truthfully say what's on their minds when it comes to race issues -- especially the issues too taboo to even raise. That's the only way to really break down the lines of communication and forge a real sense of understanding.
